Fantastic hostel in the heart of Manaus. The staff are super friendly and all speak great English. Great common area with U shaped sofa and big TV. We stayed in both private and dooms, ac great in both and curtains for privacy.
Round the corner to the main square, close to bars and restaurants.
We didnu2019t book our Amazon tour through them, but it looks like they were very helpful to other people who wanted a tour.
Would 100% stay here again :)
O atendimento foi bom, mas o quarto era pequeno e a cabeceira da cama ficava na janela com a cortina na minha cabeu00e7a. Eu e minha filha tentamos puxar a cana e foi impossu00edvel mexe-la do lugar. Su00f3 tomamos um cafu00e9 preto no cafu00e9 da manhu00e3 porque somos veganas e nos cobraram o valor inteiro, mesmo que nu00e3o tinham sido avisadas que o cafu00e9 nu00e3o estava incluu00eddo.
The location of the Local Hostel is perfect, right by the Amazon Theater and really close to the historical center. The staff is always there to help you and they leave a little note with a cacao chocolate on your bed :) However, when I first booked it, they tried to charge the whole amount in my credit card 6 times (without my permission), even though in the website it was written I would only be charged when I get there. My credit card was bloqued for several days.
Very cool hostel! We stayed there for a night before a jungle trip and spent one evening after it (they charge a small fee if you want to hang out after you check out). We were lucky to be there for a barbecue night, food was very good.
Staff was really helpful as well, they responded to my emails very quickly and gave recommendations on where to go in the city.
Local Hostel was great for our brief stay in Manaus. The AC worked well (a must in Manaus), the rooms were clean, the security was tight (also a must in Manaus), had consistently hot water and there was a very solid low key atmosphere in the hostel. Our only complaint was that there wasn't really anyone staffing the bar at night making it effectively non-existent.
